The specific AMAP Products and Services you receive may vary depending on the software versions, devices and the country or region in which you use our services. For versions, devices, or regions where certain services or functions are unavailable, the relevant provisions of the Policy will not apply.
You may access the services and features provided by us outside of China, including products and services available in language modes other than Chinese and Cantonese (with the exception that users in Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan regions may use Chinese and Cantonese services). We will identify your country/region through various methods, such as the channel through which you download Amap products and services, your location during the use of Amap products and services, the phone number used for logging in or binding to your account, and your actively declared country/region.
The Policy does not cover the products and services provided to you by third parties. When you use services provided by third parties through AMAP Products or Services, their respective personal information processing rules shall apply. We will clearly notify you on the specific services page that such services are provided by third parties. We strongly recommend reviewing and confirming the privacy protection practices of such third-party service providers before using their products and services, especially those involving personal information.
II. How We Collect and Use Your Personal Information
To provide you with the basic functions of AMAP Products and Services and fulfill legal and regulatory obligations, you are required to authorize us to collect and use necessary information. If you refuse to provide necessary information, you may not be able to use our products and/or services normally. For enhanced service quality and experience when using basic functions, you may separately choose to provide additional unnecessary information. Refusal to provide such information will not prevent you from using our basic functions but may result in suboptimal functionality.
The basic functional scenarios for our collection and use of your personal information are as follows:
(A) Maps, Positioning and Navigation
1. Positioning and Navigation
If you use our location-based services, we will collect and process your dynamic location information and device information, such as IP address, GNSS information, base station information, Wi-Fi status, Wi-Fi parameters, Wi-Fi lists, SSID, BSSID, signal strength information, Bluetooth information, sensor information (vector, geomagnetic, acceleration, gyroscope, direction, photosensitive, barometer, gravity, step counting and step detection), and device signal strength information.
(1) If you use navigation and route planning services for driving, new energy vehicles, trucks, motorcycles, cycling, walking, running, bus, metro, pathfinding, speed cameras, cruise, or parking records, we will collect your departure and destination, planned routes and location information. Such information is necessary information.
(2) If you use positioning services, we will collect your device information, dynamic location information and other log information about services. Such information is necessary information.
(3) To provide you and other AMAP users with real-time traffic updates, traffic predictions, and intelligent transportation information (e.g., traffic light countdowns, road condition tips, and green wave navigation), we will use your and other AMAP users’ location information to conduct data statistics and analysis to generate and interpret traffic information and conditions for your travel decisions.
(4) If you use the Music Player function during navigation and log in to a third-party account, AMAP will obtain your third-party account profile picture, username, membership status, personal playlists and music content (such as favorites, recent plays, and personalized recommendations). Such information is unnecessary information.
If you use location-based services, you need to turn on device location permissions. Walking navigation requires storage and camera permissions, while voice interactions require microphone permissions. You can turn off the relevant permissions through the system settings, but doing so may limit access to certain services or functions or affect the intended functionality.
2. Browsing and Information Display
(1) If you browse maps, nearby locations, surroundings, categorized channels, or ranked lists of Points of Interest (POIs) and life service information based on your location, we will collect your location information, browsing history, click information, device information (device identifiers such as Android ID, OAID, Harmony OAID, IDFA, OpenUDID), device parameters and system information), and other log information about services. Such information is necessary information.
(2) If you use the Favorites function, you can use the default Favorites to save locations without logging into an AMAP account. If you want to create custom Favorites for saving or creating locations, guides, routes, texts, images, and maps, you will need to log into your AMAP account. In this case, we will collect the texts, images, locations, and other information that you record or publish in your Favorites, along with related log information about services. Such information is necessary information. With your consent, we may publicly display your Favorites, username and profile picture as AMAP Guides to other AMAP users. If you add locations to Favorites using photo selection, you will need to authorize access to your photo album, and we will obtain the geotagging information of the selected photo but will not store the photo itself. Such information is unnecessary information.
3. Search
If you use the search service, our server will automatically record your activity information, including search keywords you manually enter, voice inputs activated through wake words, search history, location information, browsing and click information, device information (device identifiers such as Android ID, OAID, Harmony OAID, IDFA, UDID, OpenUDID) and other log information about services.
To use the voice-activated search, you need to turn on the device’s microphone permissions. You can turn off the relevant permissions through system settings, but doing so may limit access to certain services or functions or affect the intended functionality.
4. Map Information and Data Co-Construction
During your use of AMAP Products and Services, you may submit feedback on map information and data updates or report errors or issues so that we can enhance the richness and accuracy of map data. By logging into your AMAP account, you can provide feedback to us on new locations, incorrect locations, road closures, traffic information, etc. We will collect your feedback (such as text and image submissions, voice messages, location information, phone numbers, and other required information depending on the feedback types. Such information is necessary information. You may also grant permissions for access to your camera, photos, and videos (storage). If location permissions are enabled for your camera or photos, uploaded images will include geotagging information, and you can turn off the permissions to locate the mobile camera or photo through your system settings), as well as log information about services generated from your use of the above functions. Additionally, we may use your location information, Favorites, search history, and navigation information to push requests for feedback, inviting you to share information and contribute to the map data for the benefit of other users.

You can view the status of these permissions in your device settings or in the Privacy Settings section and choose to enable or disable some or all permissions. Please note that enabling any permission constitutes your authorization for us to collect and use the relevant personal information required to provide the corresponding services. Disabling a permission means revoking your authorization, and we will cease collecting and using the relevant information associated with that permission. However, we will also be unable to provide services dependent on the disabled permission. Disabling a permission does not affect information collection and usage that occurred prior to the revocation based on your prior authorization.
2. The display and management of permissions may vary across different devices. Please refer to your device or system’s user guide for specific instructions. Additionally, your device system may grant other permissions along with necessary ones, which cannot be manually or automatically disabled by AMAP.
